THE LAUREL HOMESCHOOLS
Study With a Home Tutor

Home tutoring is a fantastic choice for young learners, especially those aged between 3 to 6. With a certified professional tutor, your child can explore the joy of learning through engaging activities and play. We aim at nurturing curiosity and helping our youngsters develop essential skills in a fun and supportive setting. Each tutor is a qualified Early Years teacher with at least 1 year of experience, carefully selected to deliver quality education using effective methods such as the Montessori approach and respected reading systems like Jolly Phonics and ReadWriteInc.
What Makes our Early Years Program Special?
Acclaimed Phonics Schemes
We use well-researched phonics schemes that work best with each learner's individual needs. These include the ReadWriteInc. Phonics Scheme coupled with Jolly Phonics. All our tutors are trained and equipped on how to effectively use these schemes, guaranteeing a smooth ride for each child's reading journey.
Orton-Gillingham Approach
As the awareness about learning disorders grows, we seek to be an inclusive learning institution. At Laurel Homeschools, we always go the extra mile for learners with learning difficulties by incorporating various multi-sensory learning methods to teach reading and numeracy, following the OG approach. Our tutors are aware of the advantages of early screening as it pertains to managing certain learning disorders hence, they are always on the lookout to identify any significant disparities in learners' abilities. For this reason, we administer phonics screening tests for each learner at least once in six months.
Learning Through Play and Music
Music, rhythm and play plays a central role in our homeschools. We harness the power of these often overlooked practices to revolutionize how children learn.
Emphasis on Outdoor Learning
We champion for outdoor learning as much as possible. This is in form of games, excursions, exploration, and any form of raw contact with the child's immediate environment. In Laurel Homeschools, a successful day of learning will often appear to be very different from that in a typical school. This rewards us with children who are excited to walk into class and to have a positive attitude towards learning.
